As always, we welcome appropriate submissions of photographs from our hikes and other outdoors events involving our members. If you have photographs you would like to contribute, the best thing to do is post them to your own photo gallery, send us a link and we will either download the photos we would like to display in our gallery or link to your photo gallery.

There are many photo gallery options (many free) available on the internet, just do a Google search using the term “online photo album” or similar search term and you should retrieve many results.

Alternately, you may email digital photos as attachments to us at < title=”Harriman Hikers Email” href=”mailto:harrimanhikers@gmail.com”>harrimanhikers@gmail.com.

Submitted photos should ideally be color .jpgs sized to 500px high x however wide x 72ppi. Please do not ask us to answer technical questions about using online photo galleries, or digital photography in general, it is beyond the scope of our capabilities to answer questions of this nature. Do research using an online search engine such as Google or consult your photo gallery host for technical support.

Also, please note, we reserve the right to accept, or reject, photo submissions at our sole discretion and we do not accept photo submissions unless submitted by the original photographer.

3/31/2007 Update:

As a sort of “techy” note, sometime in the near future we hope to migrate our original photo gallery over to our Harriman Hikers Flickr Photo Gallery, upgrading that account to a Flickr Pro Account, which will include unlimited bandwidth and file storage for us. Flickr has an open API and there is a wealth of free, open source applications available that can access the Flickr API. Additionally, this will allow us to integrate a very attractive new photo gallery into the Harriman Hikers Website and there are many attractive Widgets available which provide some Ajax, an example of which you can see in the photo gallery of Gene’s New Hampshire photos here.
