Labor Day Weekend Greetings to all Harriman Hikers!

Can you believe Summer is almost “over”? Where does the time go?

This month’s Newsletter contains, as always, news and announcements of likely interest to our members.

Additional Event: Dinner With ElizabethMany of us are aware that our longtime fellow hiker, Elizabeth Rostkowski, has been unable to hike with us lately. Elizabeth is very eager to meet for dinner with friends from the group tomorrow evening, Sunday, September 2nd after the hike at our usual, unofficial, apres-hike hangout, Mahwah Bar and Grill (MAP). A contingent from the day’s hike should be generally expected to arrive at MBG sometime (approximately) between 5:30 and 6:00 pm if you would like to come but can’t make the hike. In the unlikely event you have never been to MBG, attire is casual and the cost is reasonable. Please bring cash and expect to tip well.

Additional Event: Labor Day HikeEd Burdzy will lead an additional hike Monday, September 3rd, 2007.The hike is in addition-to and does not replace or affect Harriman Hikers regular Sunday Hike. Harriman Hikers meets every Sunday for hiking, rain or shine, year-round, as we have for over 30 years.

The hike is coordinated privately by Hike Leader, Ed Burdzy. Please contact Ed by phone 973-471-0492 for questions or more info about this hike.

Hike destination will be determined by Ed, day of hike.

Meetup for Ed’s hike on Monday, September 3rd, 2007 is as usual for “Ed Hikes”, 10am in the south (public) end of the parking lot at the Mason Jar Restaurant on Route 202 in Mahwah, NJ. Map

Ed’s hikes can be more ambitious and longer (8-12 miles or more) than Harriman Hikers’ Sunday hikes. You must speak with Ed first if you have not hiked with Ed before, spoken with him about joining his Labor Day hike and/or have any reservations about your abilities as a hiker.

Contact Ed Burdzy 973-471-0492 for questions and more info.

Please bring food to cook out, snacks and beverages to share
Camping grills, paper plates and utensils are needed as well. Please do
not come empty-handed. it’s only fun if EVERYONE contributes!

What to Wear:

Please dress accordingly for a possible warm day-cool evening. Hiking boots are recommended. Hike will be 3-5 miles total, but will be a hike nonetheless, on wooded trails and upaved woods roads.

Would be helpful to have some idea of how many people to expect, please send an rsvp email to hikingfun@gmail.com if you are planning on attending. Thanks!
